HAIDA SERIES

These woodblock prints are inspired by the Haida native people of the Northwest Coast of Canada. In this series, I explore the powerful traditions of their cosmology and try to reinterpret this in my work. These people were legendary woodcarvers and I am a woodblock artist - a carver of wood. Each print is printed by hand using a handmade tool calles a Baren. I use beautiful hand-made paper and limit my editions. Thought I am inspired by the Haida, I recognize the need to expand my vision and create my own unique woodblock prints.
